Sustainably and safely exploiting these resources requires a deep understanding of the underlying geology and a detailed analysis of the hydrological regime of the area. ATA also conducts detailed analysis of the options and risks associated with water resource development and works with communities and governments to make clean, fresh running water available to arid mountain communities.

We use gravity-fed systems and innovative material selections to increase the cost-effectiveness and durability of our water systems which deliver water to WHO standards. Because of the terrain, the climate and the geographic isolation of many of the water sources our communities use, total community commitment to the labour input and maintenance and upkeep of the systems is assured by detailed community participation in planning and implementation.
